OP LA DELIZIOSA
A NAME, A REGION, A TRADITION
OP La Deliziosa, is one of the most dynamic emerging companies in the Sicilian citrus fruit and vegetable sector, with 300 hectares of land cultivated with prickly pears and 90,000 tons of products. It is recognized as a European market leader in the production, trade and export of prickly pears.
Goal: To establish the first real brand of Etna D.O.P.* prickly pear in Italy. The brand identity is intended to convey prestige and be recognizable in Italy and abroad in the reference markets. Also, to develop an ongoing, compelling campaign to promote this fruit in a way that strengthens its perceived value. *(Certified Designation of Protected Origin)
NAMING, LOGO, PACKAGING, WEBSITE
We coined the name “Sicilio” for Op la Deliziosa. This name is a clear reference to the region where the fruit is grown, so there’s an immediate connection, even for non-Italian markets. That sparks imagination linked to the territory’s products and traditional values. The communication plan for the pay-off suggests the same imagery and values.
Sicilio has become the name of the best prickly pears grown on the slopes of Mount Etna and was presented at the Macfruit 2016 fair with a communication campaign that leveraged the strong sensory appeal of this fruit. With its essential, geometric and chic style, Sicilio’s new visual identity captures the values of its homeland: a perfect alchemy of taste, roundness, passion and tradition.
SNAPSHOTS OF SICILY
The communication campaign uses ad hoc imagery in elegant and refined tones to justify high positioning. It calls to mind the colors, landscapes and rarefied atmospheres of Sicily. Ad hoc photography was employed to reveal how extraordinary this traditional fruit is, just waiting to be discovered.
